Our Nurseries
We are passionate about instilling in children a love for an active lifestyle and all the wonderful benefits it brings. Our journey began in 2015 when we opened our first Nursery in the vibrant heart of Croydon. It was here that our vision for childcare began to take shape and evolve.
Realizing the need for a unique and enriching environment for our children, we embarked on a new adventure by opening our first Nursery & Forest School in 2021. Nestled within the serene surroundings of Selsdon Recreational Ground, we found the perfect setting to bring our vision to life.
Our vision
Our goal was clear: to create an open-plan space where children could freely explore, play and learn. We knew that to achieve this vision, we needed to be immersed in the great outdoors, allowing natural light to illuminate our learning spaces while providing ample room for forest school activities. The discovery of Selsdon Pavilion, originally used as changing rooms, was a delightful surprise and the ideal location for our unique setting.

Fast forward a few years and despite the pandemic our reputation for providing quality childcare in Selsdon grew, as did our ambitions. In 2024 we opened our 2nd Ofsted registered setting, named “The Village” due to its location in Addington Village.
We were in awe of the building with its incredible high ceilings and open plan layout. Perfectly positioned next to a park and just minutes from our very own enchanted forest, we knew this was the perfect venue to expand our vision.

Learning the Totstars way
At both nursery settings we offer our distinctive blend of childcare that integrates education, forest school and sports in a way that ignites children's curiosity and captivates their imagination. Through a variety of activities that challenge their senses, minds and bodies, we cultivate curious, imaginative and resilient learners who are eager to explore the world around them.
Our specially designed nurseries provide children with a calm and nurturing home away from home, ensuring they receive the best possible start in their early years. With a focus on creating a supportive and comforting environment, we lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and growth.
At Totstars we have a commitment to authenticity which you will see in our choice of play materials. As a nursery we strive to be a (single use) plastic-free setting. We're dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint and promoting eco-conscious practices. By opting for real resources we not only provide children with a richer play experience but also instil values of respect for the environment from an early age.
Forest School
Our forest school sessions are the heart of our nature-inspired curriculum. Where children immerse themselves in the wonders of the great outdoors, fostering a deep connection with nature and igniting their curiosity about the world around them.
During our forest school sessions children embark on exciting adventures, from building dens and climbing trees to constructing bridges and exploring the natural landscape. Guided by our experienced forest school leaders they learn valuable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and resilience, while discovering the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
We believe in fostering a deep appreciation for nature's creatures and animals. That's why our forest school sessions include engaging lessons and activities focused on wildlife observation and exploration. From identifying birdsong to discovering insect habitats, children learn about the rich biodiversity that surrounds us, cultivating a sense of wonder and respect for the natural world.
Our forest school sessions also offer hands-on opportunities for cooking and outdoor dining with activities such as roasting marshmallows over an open fire - a firm favourite!

What happens if we miss a session?Unfortunately, we are unable to refund for missed sessions and/or amend invoices for sessions your child is unable to attend. If your child is unable to make a session please take advantage of our 'send a friend' option where a child can take your space for the session you cannot attend.

Do I have to pay the membership fee?Yes, the membership fee is a standard one off fee applied to your first invoice after your free trial. It gives you 10% off birthday parties and holiday camp bookings and also comes with an awesome Totstars football kit!

Can I pay per class?No, unfortunately, all our bookings are paid in 8-week blocks in advance. Your child’s space is secured by this payment.

What happens if it's raining?We play on! Sessions will go ahead unless the weather is deemed to pose a health and safety risk. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified via text to the number associated with your membership and you will be refunded the session. Whatever the weather please ensure your child is dressed appropriately and has plenty of water.

What do I need to bring to a session?Your Totstars kit of course! Or clothes that allow freedom of movement and can be layered up or down depending on the weather. Trainers or Astroturf boots (strictly no studs) and we recommend shin pads for added protection and to get into the habit of wearing them.

What ages do the football sessions cater for?We offer classes for children as young as 2. Please check our class schedule for the latest classes and availability.

My child is too old for Totstars, what happens next?The next phase of your child’s footballing development is The Allstars FC (hyperlink this to the Allstars section). Children can graduate to The Allstars when they are in Year 2 at school. Our coaches will speak to you about the transition to The Allstars when they feel your child is ready.

Is there a sibling discount?Yes, we offer a 10% discount for siblings. The discount will be applied to any siblings after full payment is taken for the first child.
